Why this exists
Search for a debt sculpting calculator and you will find textbook chapters, course pages, tutorial articles and Excel templates for sale. What you will not find is a working calculator. The methodology is entirely public — it is documented by Wiley, Forvis Mazars, Financial Edge, Breaking Into Wall Street and others — yet nobody had built the interactive version.
This site is that version, and it is free.
Who builds it
Built and maintained by a project finance practitioner working in deal advisory, where debt sizing and sculpting are day-to-day work. The tools are the ones the author wanted to exist and could not find.
Every formula is implemented from publicly published methodology. No proprietary, employer-derived or client model has been used in building any calculator here.
How it is built
- Everything runs in your browser. There is no backend and no database. Your cash flow figures are never transmitted anywhere.
- The maths is tested. The calculation engine has an automated test suite covering the core identities — that sculpted debt amortises to exactly zero, and that LLCR equals the DSCR target on a flat sculpt.
- The methodology is shown, not hidden. Every formula is written out on the methodology page, with a worked example small enough to check by hand.
- No signup, no paywall, no limits.
How it is funded
The site is free to use. Running costs are covered by unobtrusive advertising. There is no paid tier gating any calculation, and no data is sold — see theprivacy policy.
What it deliberately does not do
These are sizing and analysis tools, not a full financial model. Construction phasing and IDC, floating rate curves, multiple tranches, cash sweeps and detailed tax treatment are all out of scope — theassumptions and limitationssection sets this out in full. Treat the outputs as a fast check on the shape of an answer.
Corrections and requests
If you find an error in the maths, please report it — that is the most valuable feedback this site can get, and it will be fixed and noted. Requests for additional calculators are also welcome and genuinely shape what gets built next.
